Engine light on?

What would cause the engine light to go on and off, sometimes 2-3 days at a time?

Hello,

A check engine light usually comes on to let you know there is a problem with one of your car's computer monitored systems. It could be a sensor or a mechanical part.
Since your check engine light comes on and of it could for a loose connection to the sensor or other intermittent error. If you have not already get your vehicle scanned to see what are the codes.
