I was backing out of a driveway, obv in reverse, and it did not seem as though my brakes wanted to work. I did not think anything of it. It has a terribly hard idle and sometimes almost stalls at an idle but I was told that it was fine. After I backed out, I took a turn and my car did not want to go and it had a low growl that resembled the muffler being broken, but my muffler is fine. I then pulled over because it could not go anymore, and it shut itself off and now will not start back up. It will try to start, begin to sound like it is going to, then will not. If you give it gas it will start up and turn over, but then shuts right back off. It is still blowing exhaust, and my motor shakes like crazy before it turns on. My oil is fine and it is not the timing belt either. Lately it has had a hard shift but only right after a ninety degree turn, and earlier today it sounded bad and did not have the up and go that it had when I had first purchased it.

Good afternoon.

The first thing I would do is check the fuel pressure.

It sounds like you have low fuel pressure causing all these issues.

Is there a possibility that it is also an O2 sensor, or my catalytic converter?

Okay, an O2 sensor will not cause this at all.

A clogged catalytic converter will cause a no start but you would have had some other indicators leading up to this.

Did you check the fuel pressure?

It is currently in the shop, but I am not positive as to when they will begin working on it since it is a holiday weekend. I am hoping that it is something simple and quick!

Wow, sorry to hear that. And you had that replaced? Did they tell you why it failed? It would be good to know to see why it failed.
