In the middle of driving to work, I notice white smoke coming from the car and it increases when accelerating. I pulled over and notice that smoke was coming from behind the engine. The maintenance light did come on however and prior to my drive to work the brake light came on and the brakes were changed 3 days before the incident. I started the car again and the issue seemed to be resolved after 5 miles the white smoke appeared again. The car seemed that it was struggling when accelerating. When towing the car, the car couldn’t go up the incline. Then the engine started to sound weird. All the oil levels and antifreeze levels seem to be fine. Also, the temperature gauge seemed to be okay, and the car wasn't overheating. No check engine light came on. No codes pop up on the OBD2 scanner.

Hi,

If the smoke was white, that leads me to think of a coolant leak or it could be something electrical. Did it have any specific odor to it? For example, did it have a sweet smell like coolant, or did it have an electrical smell?

Let me know. Also, now that the vehicle sat for some time, does it start and have a smooth idle or how would you best describe how it runs at this point?

Let me know.

Joe
