First a question When you shift into reverse does the car move in reverse?
If yes but the lever won't go farther than neutral I would start by looking under the hood at the cable that connects to the lever inside. Make sure nothing fell between it and the transmission and is blocking it from moving. Have someone move the lever as you watch it and the cable. If you find nothing blocking the lever and the cable bushing is OK (plastic bushing, they can break and cause problems) then the next place to look is at the shift lever inside the car.
First look at the shift boot and see if it has any tears or damage, like something may have pushed through it and is making the lever stick. If you see nothing the next step is to remove the center console shell to get to the shifter itself.
This video shows some of it. Www. Youtube. Com/watch?V=N8NxH93V4cs
Once the cover is off you will be able to see the shift lever and it's hardware. Look for something jammed or broken in the frame that holds the lever. You may be fortunate and see that a coin or comb or similar has falling in there and is preventing it from moving.
If instead you find something broken or damaged you will probably need to replace the lever. The attached image is what the part looks like.
Hope you just find something stuck under the hood.
