I am driving a 2009 Saturn Vue Hybrid. The engine light is on, and a message that says "Service Hybrid System." How long is this car driveable in this condition? I am borrowing the car from my mom and will be returning it to her in a week or 2. Will I be OK driving it until then?

Hello,

Since the check engine light is illuminated it will be a good idea to scan the vehicle and retrieve the error code(s). Which could be related to the hybrid system.

The service hybrid system light can be on due to number of reasons. Without know what the issue is it is impossible to tell if you will be able to drive it for a period of time.
This could be any given sensor or the hybrid battery, module, or the actual hybrid drive system.
Best option would be to diagnose the vehicle and retrieve what are the trouble codes. That can help with figuring out what is the issue.
