I need to change the head gasket. I am half way into it (or so I think) and it appears I need to pull the engine to get the head off. Is it possible to remove the timing chain cover without pulling the engine?

Yes there is no need to pull the engine to remove the head. Put a floor jack under the oil pan with some wood and jack it up againist the oil pan then remove the upper mount. Now u raise the engine up and down to get more clearance to get at all the bolts for the front cover. Dont forget there is a couple of bolts in the middle of the cover if u forget those u will break the cover prying it loose.U will need a impact gun or some way to hold the crankshaft pulley without breaking something to break loose the crankshaft bolt holding on the pulley. That bolt can be really tight sometimes so good luck on that one. Let me know if u have anymore questions.
