1995 Saturn SL1 acceleration

The car goes in to R just fine but when you put the car in to D 3 or 2 their is no acceleration even with wide open throttle position. For the past 3 months the car has been acting funny when you drive from a cold start the engine kind of lopes irraticaly for a couple of yards than it goes away and the car seems to gain more power, every once in a while it will kill out at about 45 mph than it is hard to get started agan but now it wll not drive at all!
