The car has no power and I had the battery checked and it was good. What else could cause the problem?

Just to add to this one the car only has one fuseable link which feeds power to the alternator has nothing to do for the rest of the car. You need to check all the fuses especailly the large green maxi fuses in the underhood fuse box. So the dash lights dont turn on when you turn the key on?Do you have a test light to do some testing?

Have a multi meter but don't know what to test. Nothing works, dashlights, headlights are all inoperable with the key on.

You a made sure the battery cables are clean and tight? Also you did a ohms test from the negative battery cable to the engine block and got 2 ohms or less to make sure the negative battery cable was grounded properly? You also made sure the smaller postive battery cable to the underhood fuse box ws clean and tight and that it had battery voltage going to it?You also say that the large green maxi ign fuses in the underhood fuse box had battery voltage on both sides of them?
