1997 Saturn SC1 Power

The problem I am having is when I turn the key to start engine I get a click click and the power goes out. Remove key the power returns. Once trying to start again the power goes out againand then try again sometimes it starts and other times I have to put a portable charger to battery for it to start. Battery is just over a month old. When starting I ensure the ac and radio and dome light is off.

Let's start with this take the battery out and have it charged and tested. If it's good put it back in if it's bad get a new one. Also inspect the battery cable's make sure there clean and tight. If this fix's the car then go and have the alternator tested. Let me know what you find.
