Saturn LS 180,000 MILES STANDARD 5 SPEED COMING TO A STOP I DOWN SHIFT BUT THE CAR STALLED EVERT TIME PUT CAR IN 1ST AND BEGIN AGAIN TEMP GAUGE NEVER MOVED IT STAYED BELOW COLD, THE CAR HAD HEAT THIS MORNING CAR DIDN'T STALL BUT ONCE AGAIN TEMP NEVER MOVED IS THIS OK OR DOSE IT HAVE TO DO WITH MY CAR STALLING

If it stalls only when cold! If so change the ECT9Electronic Coolant Temp) sensor. And for the gauge replace the temp sending unit. Or test it. Coolant temp gauge measures current resistance from the temp sending

unit, mounted in the cylinder head. The sender has a resistance of 53.4 ohms at

257 degrees, and 1200 ohms at 104 degrees. As the tem increases the current to

the gauge increases due to less resistance, causing the gauge to move to hot.

Try testing the guage by applying volts to the hot wire. Gauge should go

towards hot! If not, the gauge is NG or the wire!
