I drive a 96 Saturn SL1 with mileage of 300000. Im not sure of the engine size. The problem Im having is with the Service engine soon light which is now constantly on. I took it to the saturn dealership for a diagnostic check and they said that the ingition coils and module must be replaced which is a total of almost $900, which I dont have to spend on this car. Is this for sure what is causing the light to be on? I have to do an emission test ASAP, will it pass without?

Thank you in advance for your help

Yes if they gave you the trouble codes for the check engine light, thats what has to be replaced, Also $900 is quite high for those parts with labour, better off getting independ garage doing the work, If you are unable too.
