I drive a 93 sl2 w/105k miles It makes what I call a loose vacuum hose type noise especially when cold. A neighbor told me this was a noise produced to inform me of a brake problem ...is this for real? It doesn't just make this noise when the wheel turns it goes more along with engine rotoaton than that. Does this sound familiar to anyone?

Disc brake pads will make a squeeking noise when they get low.

Check your vacuum lines. PCV, EGR, etc. Also check arounfd the intake manifold for a leaking gasket,.

Good luck and let us know. :)
