1993 Saturn Door Open Beeping
The chime module goes off when two inputs happen. The key is left in the ignition and the door is open. Because it only happens when the door is open I suspect the other. You can silence it several ways.
1 Replace keyminder switch in the lock cylinder.
2 Cut and tape keyminder switch wire coming from ignition switch harness.
3 Remove chime module altogehter (Only on 94 or older models).
Good luck and let us know. :)
Suggested Repair
Check the ignition keyminder switch, since the door-open chime should sound only when that switch also indicates the key is in the ignition. Replace the keyminder switch, isolate and tape its wire from the ignition harness, or remove the chime module on a 1994-or-older Saturn. A less common chime-module fault can be repaired or the module replaced.
Conversation Summary
A 1993 Saturn began beeping whenever the driver door was open after a repair, even without the key in the ignition or lights left on. Disconnecting the door wiring stopped the chime but also disabled the power seat belts. An expert said the chime normally requires both an open door and a key-in-ignition signal, so the keyminder switch, its wiring, or the chime module should be checked. Another owner reported the same symptom and confirmed a faulty keyminder switch by wiggling the ignition switch to stop the chime and restore seat-belt retraction.
