the 1406 I think is a problem with the EGR can this cause iratic shifting?

Ur egr valve is not going to set a incorrect 2nd 3rd and 4th gear codes thats for sure. Its most like a pressure issue.U usually dont loose 3 gears like that all at once unless its a electrical or pressure issue. How does the car shift?Let me know.
