2006 Saturn Ion Power Steering goes out

My power steering goes out as I'm driving at times. All I have to do is turn the car off and turn it on again and everything is ok again until about 20 to 30 more minutes of driving again, then it goes out again and becomes hard to steer. I have seen on this site that one other person has experienced the same thing. What is the problem and what is the best way to fix it?

Hi
The only part that could work one time and not another and particularly turning off and on to get it to work is the steering control modual. Located on collum a box with wire term. Needs to hooked up to a scanner to see what codes are set that may verify fault.
