Hi,
When was the last tune-up? When it gets colder outside, the fuel mixture is much richer when it's first started. If you have old spark plugs, that can cause it.
Also, take a look through this link. It explains how to retrieve diagnostic trouble codes on this model-year vehicle without a scan tool. Try doing this to see if there are any diagnostic codes that may point us in the right direction.
