Running lights stay on when you turn off vehicle

I am buying a 2005 dodge stratus sxt and the current owners said that when they turn off the car, the running lights will stay on, which kills the battery, so they have to un hook the battery once they turn their car off. They cant figure out why it is doing that, and how to fix it.

It sounds like a bad daytime running lights module, but there are other possibile causes. To diagnose it correctly would require very specific testing and equipment and access to wiring diagrams.

Yep, the running light relay is stuck on and needs to be replaced which is integrated into the engine fuse panel so it looks like that will need to be replaced. Check out the images (below). Let us know if you need anything else.
