I serviced the car a month ago and put some diesel fuel additive to clean the carbon through the system. I ran the car for about 40 miles it's not smoking at all. I even took a cloth to wipe the tailpipe and the cloth was still clean. My issue is that when I drive at times it will have abit of power then after short distance it just wants to cut out, so I have to keep changing gears just to get me home. I have cleaned the EGR valve and throttle body but no change. Please advise. What could be the problem as it is the car I will be using to commute?

We need to check for codes to see what comes up. here is a guide to help us. It sounds like the throttle pedal position sensor is out:

Please run down this guide and report back.
