2006 Mazda 5 car won't start

Car makes one click from starter area when key is turned to start then nothing.
checked battery it's ok. car died when in high water. then this problem started.
checked cylinders for water dry. how do i check starter.

First thing to do is manually crank the engine and if it turns, then you proceed to testing the starter.

Above link explains how to test the starting tcircuit. to thest the starter, disconnec the starter solenoid wire and use a remote wire to apply battery voltage to it. If it fails to crank, the starter is bad.
