The truck shifts fine but every time I downshift or even just take my foot off the gas the rev limiter goes below the 1. The truck does not sound any different while shifting. There is not any grinding or hesitation while shifting but the engine is not as loud as it usually is either. I checked the oil and the transmission fluid and both are fine.

Good afternoon.

The rev limiter is for high engine RPM and will not allow engine speed above 4,000 RPM's when not in drive.

It sounds like the system is working correctly as the idle speed will kick in when downshifting.

Did it not do this prior to you feeling this?? Is there a problem?
