YouTube video says just push the cable into the instrument panel and it just snaps into place, this one does this, but does not seem to catch the indicator arrow.

It looks like it might have been overextended which means it will need to be replaced. It should just snap back into place. There is an adjustment that can be made though I have the instructions on how to fix it in the images below. Check out the images (below). Let us know what happens and please upload pictures or videos of the problem.

Thank you very much for the helpful information and the images, I should be able to get it to working now.
The little white clip that holds the thin cable on the gear shifter, that holds the little adjusting wheel is broken, so I will need to get a new replacement for it, and try again, but thanks again for your help and time.

Hi Ken and Joe,

I am supposed to get the part in today.
My question is, my automatic transmission is PRND21, Overdrive is on the gear shifter (little round button on the end) so where do I put the gear shifter? Which gear position, to hang the 3lb weight? Need to know. thanks again, Charles

Hi,

As far as the gear positioning is concerned, place it in drive (D).

If you receive the part today, let us know how things turn out or if you have other questions.

Take care,

Joe

Hello Joe,

Just wanted to let you know that I got the part in yesterday and I put it on, and it worked fine.
I didn't have a socket to fit 5.5 mm, so I had to borrow one from a friend, anyway I wanted to say thanks again for your help.
Regards Charles
