Unfortunately, our service manuals don't give any detail on this age vehicle. That leaves us to the internet and the closest I could find was a 1973 Blazer. I have never done this on a 1971 but I can't imagine it is much different.

Please let me know if this does not help and we will try to come up with something else. Thanks

Hi,

Because of the model year, I have no pictures. However, there is a channel that the new weather stripping will push in to. Also, you will see small round pins that there should be openings in the new part that aligns with those. Simply push the new part over those as well as in the channel.

What I would suggest is to also use a good weather stripping adhesive. I know 3M makes a good product for this.

Let me know if that helps. Also, if you have questions, I'll try my best to help. If possible, upload a few pictures of what you are dealing with so I can see it. It may help me.

Take care,
Joe
