Driver's outside door handle latch mechanism broke

Yesterday the driver's outside door handle latch mechanism broke and handle is loose, won't open door. Door can still open from the inside.

Can you send me instructions on removing inside panel and then replacing or repairing mechanism?

I would be happy to. First will be the removal process of the door panel. The attached pics will correlate with the directions.

FRONT DOOR TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Remove the caps then remove the screw A.

3. Pull the inner handle cover in the direction of the arrow (1), (2) shown in the figure, detach the tab B.

4. Disconnect the door lock switch connector, then remove the inner handle cover.

5. Remove the inner garnish. See: Front Door Panel > Removal and Replacement > Inner Garnish Removal/Installation

6. Remove the cover, then remove the screw C.

7. Pull in the direction of the arrow (3), (4), (5) shown in the figure and remove clips D from the front door trim.

8. Pull the front door trim in the direction of the arrow (6) shown in the figure.

9. Disconnect the driver-side power outer mirror switch connector and driver-side power window main switch connector.

10. Remove the front door trim.

11. Install in the reverse order of removal.

FRONT OUTER HANDLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

Driver Side

1. To access the glass installation bolt, adjust the position of the front door glass so that the height of the door glass towards the rear is approx. 105 mm 4.13 in.

2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

3. Remove the following parts:

a. Inner garnish See: Front Door Panel > Removal and Replacement > Inner Garnish Removal/Installation

b. Front door trim See: Front Door Panel > Removal and Replacement > Front Door Trim Removal/Installation

c. Front door speaker See: Speaker > Removal and Replacement > Front Door Speaker Removal/Installation

d. Front door glass See: Front Door Window Glass > Removal and Replacement > Front Door Glass Removal/Installation

e. Front inner handle See: Front Door Interior Handle > Removal and Replacement > Inner Handle Removal/Installation

f. Front door module panel See: Front Door Panel > Removal and Replacement > Front Door Module Panel Removal/Installation

4. Disconnect the rod from the front outer handle.

5. Disconnect the rod from the front door key cylinder.

6. Remove the service hole cover.

7. Remove the bolt A and bolt B.

8. Remove the bolt C.

9. Rotate the front door key cylinder in the direction of the arrow, and then align the front door key cylinder tabs with the groove of the front outer handle.

CAUTION:

- The front door key cylinder tabs are installed to the rear side of the front outer handle. If the rear side of the front outer handle is removed without aligning the groove of the front outer handle with the front door key cylinder tabs, the front door key cylinder tabs may contact the front outer handle and be damaged. Before removing the rear side of the front outer handle, always rotate the front door key cylinder and set the tabs out of the way.

10. Secure the rear part of the front outer handle and, with the front outer handle lever pulled outward (1), remove the rear part of the front outer handle from the front door.

11. Pull out the front side of the front outer handle from the front door.

12. Install in the reverse order of removal.

Front Passenger Side

e. Front inner handle See: Front Door Interior Handle > Removal and Replacement > Inner Handle Removal/Installation

f. Front door module panel See: Front Door Panel > Removal and Replacement > Front Door Module Panel Removal/Installation

4. Disconnect the rod from the front outer handle.

5. Remove the service hole cover.

6. Remove the bolts.

7. Secure the rear part of the front outer handle and, with the front outer handle lever pulled outward (1), remove the rear part of the front outer handle from the front door.

8. Pull out the front side of the front outer handle from the front door.

9. Install in the reverse order of removal.
