if ther is 10mm of a yellow butter like substance in the underside of the oil filler cap would this point at a cylinder head gasket problem, garage says its probably because not getting run enough to burn off moisture. I think this is because it still within its warranty they maybe telling lies.

Hi there,

They are correct, you can get a deposit like this from not getting the car up to operating temp on multi trips, what i would do is get an engine flush and ensure that the car gets the odd good long run, if you have not had an issue with coolant loss, then there is nothing to worry about.
