I noticed a grinding sound in my rear tires when I was driving and now when I put my car in reverse my rear passenger tire does not turn but it does when I go forward. Could this be the wheel bearings need replaced or and/or the brakes?

Hi,

Wow! Yes, it could be a bearing but more than likely, it is something with the brakes. What I suggest is to safely lift the vehicle and remove that wheel to inspect what is happening.

I will say if it is a bearing, when you remove the weight from that wheel, it should turn backwards.

Let me know if you have rear disc brakes or drum brakes. They offered both this year. That way I can better direct you.

Take care,
Joe
