Hoping someone mechanical can help me. I had the radiator replaced on my car last week due to a crack which was picked up after the check engine light came on.

A week later and the light came back on again so now the garage is saying it is an issue with the engine, possibly a broken gasket. They are quoting more than the car is worth to repair.

My question is should this have been picked up when the radiator was replaced? Do I have any grounds to ask for the money back for the radiator replacement?

we do not have Micra cars in US so we do not know laws there. however, if a crack was initially found then they replaced it, it is a bad part and gave the indication of where coolant was leaking. Head gaskets leak slower a lot of times so just ask them if they will send part back for a refund I think it would depend on the auto parts store where it was bought for that.
