Put wrong gas in tank

I recently filled my tank with regular gas when I always and am supposed to use, high octane of 89 or higher. Now it misses all the time and hesitates when I go up a hill. A couple months ago I had all the coils replaced with new ones and had a new throttle put on so I know it is not the coils. I want to know how to get all of that bad gas out. I have added $40.00 worth of high octane on top of the regular but it is still responding to the regular. How long does it take for that to all burn out? We are going on a short trip this weekend and I am literally afraid to trust this car for the journey. My reason for filling with regular is because I "thought" I could save some money. Stupid, I know.

Should not have effected it like that.

Have you checked the plugs? How long since basic tune up?

Could be bad gas, if it is the tank would have to be dropped and flushed out.

We had all new plugs and coils Jan 26th and a new throttle. The gas was from Quick Trip where I always go. I just used regular instead of high octane. I thought topping it off with the highest octane I could purchase, twice, would be enough to fix it. It started acting up right after I filled it full with regular so, as the gage would go down a little, I would top it off. I have done that twice. Perhaps not enough to mix it with the regular? We purchased the car when it was brand new in 2004. The big issue has always been the coils which we have replaced on a fairly regular basis. In January when it started acting up (which ended up being the throttle, not the coils) my husband told them to put all new plugs and coils on to the tune of over a thousand dollar.
