To khlow2008 (or anyone who really knows). I have jumped my vehicle over the winter. Seemingly had no issues. Until the heater failed to heat up. It would not warm up at all in park, and would only warm up in drive when accelerated above 3000 rpm. It eventually began to get sluggish in acceleration. I put the car in the shop and had a fouled injector replaced.

The car runs out fine, though the heater still requires higher acceleration to kick in the heat. Also, the car still overrides drown out at or before 3000 rpm in park.

Will driving highwayin townand highway again clear the premature rev issue? Also, is the heat a heater core issue? All information appreciated.

Good afternoon.

As far as the heater, it sounds like either low coolant, air in the system or a clogged heater core.

If the level is good and no air, remove the hoses under the hood to the core and use a garden hose to flush the heater core. Run it both ways until you get a good flow. Then hook it all back up again and try it.

As far as the drowning? Do not understand that term unless you mean the engine will not rev past that rpm?
