Window is stuck in down position?

I checked all the simple stuff like fuses and safety lockout (window is stuck in down position) and I have removed door panel and it seems switch is still working but motor may be faulty or maybe it's off track? I'm not 100% sure and before I do anything I want to confirm so don't screw anything up so when I press switch the motor runs for a split second in either direction and stops, but this doesn't move the window at all it just seems to move the wire in and out slightly then stops completely, I tried assisting the motor by gently lifting while pressing switch but it didn't work and if I manually push window up to close (it's been raining a lot here) it just goes back down I can't seem to have it lock once it's fully up/closed, any help would be greatly appreciated and would love to find a fix that isn't just go buy this and this and that (if that's what must be done I understand and will do it just was hoping for alternative suggestions first if at all possible but again if it's an impossible ask don't hesitate to tell me so as I want this fixed asap but just didn't want to be charged an arm and a leg for such a simple problem, I hope that is.) Thanks very much for taking time to read and assist as this is time sensitive and can't tell you how much any help is appreciated! -Rick from PHX, AZ.

Hi Rick,

It sounds like the window regulator is shot causing the motor to only work slightly before the cables bind up. To confirm this is the problem, remove the window motor from the regulator and try it. Here is the job being done on a similar car with instructions in the images below for your car:

Check out the diagrams (below). Let us know what happens and please upload pictures or videos of the problem.
