Have a 1985/1(early model) Porsche 944, 2, 5l eng, with 114,000 miles on it. At idle or under normal driving conditions I notice NO blue exhaust smoke. Only when in neutaul and I rev'd the engine once too about 3-4000 RPM's. Killed alot of bugs. But going back to normal driving conditions and idling, nothing, did a compression chk. Thottle open, all plugs pulled, and eng, @ normal operating temp. All 4 cyl's jumped too 120, then 150, and stopped at 160.
Accepptable range for this car is 145+psi. Did'nt really bother too drop some oil in the cyl's figured I was okay, with the rings. Checked the plugs, #1 looked normal lite tan, normal burn, #2 oilly, moist and black, Not burnt. Same condtion on #3 as #2, #4 looked like #1. Am I looking at poss. Rings or valve seals. I'm hoping seals. Forgot to mention this car hold's about 5.5 qts of oil, I run 10-40 in summer and store in the winter. I 've burned thru about 2-3 qts of oil in the last 3-4 years, I only put on about 1500 miles a year on it, what do you guys think? Thanks

Since the car sits up in the winter and you drive it 1500 miles in the summer. The valve seals have probably got hard when it sit up in storage and now the oil is seeping past them and it is burning it causing the blue smoke.
