Slow Starting- 1996 Pontiac Transport

We have a '96 Transport, 196,000 miles with the 3.4 liter V-6 and it has trouble starting. Runs fine once it is started, but it will take 10-15 seconds of starter rotation to get it started in the morning. Usually first start of the day. This started intermittantly about 3 months ago and I could never duplicate my wifes complaint until Sunday. I ran a can of fuel injector cleaner through the last tank of gas, and replaced the air cleaner but it hasn't helped. No "check engine" lights or anything. Runs great once its started. Thanks.

Sounds like fuel is draining back into the tank as it sets overnight. The check valve on the pump is a possibility.

Try this: Turn the key to the run position and let the pump run with the engine off. Turn the key back.

Do this 3 times to let the pump fill the line. Now crank it. Did it start?
