1998 Pontiac Sunfire wont start

My sunfire has the theft lock light on the dash and when I turn the key it will start but only remain running for 1-2 seconds then it shuts off ever since I tried installing an aftermarket stereo. Any ideas?

I was also reading on internet about this problem saying to bump the starter and turn off and repeat until the flashing light stops flashing but my light isnt flashing it is just always on. So could this be something else ive tried doing the above but it hasnt worked.
