1998 Pontiac Sunfire 31000 miles

I am considering buying a pontiac sunfire with 31,000 miles on it. It will will not stat. It turns over like it wants to start but wont. What could be causing this and does it sound like an expensive repir.

It could be a number of factors. Does the engine crank over? Can you hear the fuel pump running? Checking for spark at the spark plugs might help. Is this why they parked it, because it didnt run? To be honest if you are missing any of those, I would take a look at the pcm and see if it is full of corrision. It is located in the right front wheel well. In that spot it gets alot of water.
