When I drive my 1998 pontiac sunfire it will drive smooth until I hit 50 to 55 miles an hour and then it will chugg until I get up to 60 mph and it will run smooth again it has a 2.2 and 113000 miles

Check tires
check front end
and if all good
tires need high speed balance
