My pontiac has an original fuel filter that has finaly given out. Me and my wife got the car from some friends used so the maintenance has been iffy. Im trying to replace the filter myself, but the quick release clamp is an original design that I cant figure out. Its black and cylindrical and covers the connection on the fuel line where as the new one on the replacement can just be taken off with your bare hands and is a very pliable translucent white plastic. Can anyone tell me how to remove it?

You will need a fuel spring clamp remover for this job. There is really no other easy way to go about it.
