1997 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP: 145,000 miles. Bought the car a couple of months ago, since then the steering wheel controls for the radio quit working and now the radio turns all the way up or down as it pleases. Its sooo annoying.
Also my heater doesn't work on levels 1-4, but does on 5. I've had the blower motor resistor replaced, but nothing. Oh yea, when you turn the switch on levels 1-4 the daytime running lamps go out compeletly and the control center (I think thats what its called) go out. HELP!!! :? Th steering wheel problem sounds like th e"clockspring" is falling apart. It is the contact plate of sorts between the wheel and column. The otherSOunds like a short in the power feed from control head to resistor or resistor to motor. Could be shorting out circuit when those speeds are selected
