Hi, I have a Pontiac Grand Prix 2001, hasn't been drivin in about a year almost. It needed a battery change so I did that, everything works perfectly fine. Why does my radio not work. The screen doesn't even come on. Not even a glitch of light flickers. Also, is there a way to disconnect the radio from the hood. Maybe my dad could have unplugged it or something. Thanks in advance

Start by checking for a blown fuse. They will blow sometimes from the surge when connecting a battery or a charger. There are two for the radio. One is usually labeled for the radio. The other one is for the station presets and clock memory and will be tied in with some other circuit that is always live like the interior lights, horn, or cigarette lighter.

Thanks, is it possible that I can reconnect or hook it up myself. I guess I'm asking is it a simple task.

I'm not sure what you're asking by "disconnect the radio from the hood". Do you mean disconnect something in the fuse box under the hood? There are large fuses there but they feed multiple smaller fuses inside the car. A number of different systems would be dead if one of those fuses was blown.
