What would cause the speedometer to show a faster speed of about 30mph than what you are actually driving?

It sounds like your display was changed to Metric Units instead of English Units. Below your dashboard status and information display push the button "i" for the information selection until you get the display for Measurement Units and change to English instead of Metric. If you are doing 60mph it will indicate 96 kmh. This might be your problem.
