The easiest way (oops, I used the easy word :) ), is to get a "quick strut" which has a new strut and spring, they are more expensive than the strut alone, but they are bolt-in.
If replacing strut, remove old strut (DO NOT REMOVE LARGE BOLT IN CENTER OF STRUT AT TOP), take to tire shop and have them remove old spring and put on new strut, install new strut. You will have to get car aligned, do this ASAP, do not wait, as running car with camber out of adjustment will ruin a tire in no time.
The large bolts that hold lower strut to knuckle may be hard to get out without impact wrench, use a long breaker bar and 6 point socket.
