Gas Smell

Someone put sugar in my tank in April 2008 and my mechanic cleaned out my gas tank, changed my fuel pump and filters, and changed gas line. However, there is gas leaking somewhere because there is a high smell of gas when you start the car. What suggestions do you have? I have not changed the spark plugs or the fuel injectors yet. Is that very expensive?

Take back to mechanic and have him find the leak. More than likely a quick connect fitting is leaking, or hose not tightened properly.

Look at fuel injectors and supply line looking for gasoline, it could simply be an injector seal.

Fuel injectors are VERY exensive, depending on engine, $150 each and up.
