i can start my car and let it run for 25 or 30 min the temp gage goes all the way up then I try to shut my car off it wont I can take my keys out and it will keep running and the engin doesnt get hot the water in my radiator is ice cold I got good flow through my hoses

Two problems:

First the ignition switch is not working, you can replace it or have a locksmith repair it.

Second, sounds like the thermostat is open and not woring, I would replace it.
