Hi,

When I press on the gas, there is a great amount of hesitation. On the freeway, to go past 60mph, I have to press the gas all o te way down in order for the car to go faster. It also seems to studder lightly while on the freeway. No matter the speed, it seems to hesitate. I recently changed the fuel filter with hopes that this would solve the problem.

Has the check engine light come on? Also, have you checked the catylatic converter to see if it is plugging? Have you checked fuel pump pressure?

I'm not quite sure how to check either of those. How do I go about doing that?

If the light is on, take the car to a nationally recognized parts store and have them scan the engine for codes. Most will do it for free and it should identify where the problem is coming from. Also, here is how to check fuel pressure:

https://www.2carpros.com/how_to/how_to_check_fuel_pressure.htm

As far as the converter, after running the car at night, check it to see if it gets red hot. Also, make sure there is pressure coming from the exhaust. There is another way to check back pressure, but it is difficult to explain.

let me know what you find.
