Recently my car has had problems with accelerating. I'm afraid its my transmission which is usually really expensive to fix. When I accelerate after coming to a complete stop my car sometimes will hesitate. My RPM's will go up, but it takes my car a little bit to get going. It does accelerate just at a slower pace. I don't punch the gas or anything, and I think if I did it would accelerate faster but my RPM's will go up a lot, to like 4500 (i'm afraid of breaking something).

When I do try to accelerate at a normal speed the RPM's will get up to about 3000 and it gives my car a quick boost of energy and kind of jerks forward a little bit.

I don't know a whole lot about cars, but I noticed that my car hesitates more when my a/c is on, then when I shut it off, although it still does hesitate when it is off.

Have you checked to make sure the trans fluid is full and clean? Has the check engine light come on?

Does the trans seem like it is slipping or does it seem engine related?
