HI,

Help we just recently replaced the water pump, overflow tank and thermostat. The car was over heating. But everytime we did a repair it would work for a few and then start overheating again. I have kept anitfreeze/water in it constantly. Well now it has steam coming from the vent along the front windw. The temperature rises to red zone with red light. I have checked the oil and exhaust for possible leakage and there is none. Because I was told it could possibly be blown head gasket or cracked block. But I don't see that being it. Help Please we are lost at what it could be now.

Thanks

My 2000 pontiac was doing the same and changed the exact same things you did like the pump, thermostat, and water overflow bottle. One thing I noticed in the past a few years back was that I had to change the thermostat out twice because the new one I had put in was rated for a higher temperature to open and was not working well with my car even though it was listed for my car. Just thought I try to help out, maybe check the car while its running to see if you have small leaks because I had one too which was coming from the overflow bottle and was a small one
