My 1998 Grand Am will stall in traffic when the outside temperature gets hot (i.E. Upper 70's or very muggy or humid out). Somtimes if it's not too hot I can just wait a few minutes and it will restart. I then can drive about 6-8 blocks and it will do the same thing. When it's humid out I have to wait untill the evening for it to restart (the outside temp. Cools down). This can be very annoying at times! Can you help me? My mechanic hooked it up to the scan computer and says it is all good. He thinks it is the fuel pump and I told him then why does it only do it when it is muggy or hot out vs. All the time?

Hi Phi Low, welcome to 2carpros and TY for the donation.

Hot/ Humid/Muggy don't wait for nothing do below to catch it -if its fuel or spark related issue and get back with some results

Get a helper disconnect a sparkplug wire or 2 and ground it to the engine atleast 3/16 away from ground-have helper crank engine over-do you have a snapping blue spark? If so-you have a fuel related problem, check the fuel pressure to rule out the fuel filter/fuel pump/pressure regulator and listen to the injector/s are they pulsing or hook up a noid light. No snapping blue spark continue to troubleshoot the ignition system-power input to the coil/coil packs, coil's resistances, distributor pick-up coil, ignition control module, cam and crank sensors and computer Note: If it doesn't apply disregard it
