On Dec. 4th I took my car to be smogged and it failed, the CO2 was too high. He said as I left there's a leak in the heater. When I got in car, there was condensation inside my windsheild. Driving home it overheated, starting smoking and smelled funny. I pulled over and had it towed to repair shop. The fixed the heater core and recommended another place for the smog repairs. For a week it drove fine, took it to smog repair and they replaced my catalytic converter, ran a pre-smog test and it passed. The next day, I took it back to smog shop and it failed, this time the NI or NO, I can't remember but it wasn't the CO2 again. Anyway, yesterday two weeks after it overheated and was repaired, it almost died idling, when I accelerated it knocked slowed and then at full speed it was fine. Every time I slowed down it would idle down and almost die. It didn't overheat or have any other symptoms. I had it towed back to the repair shop that put in the catalytic converter and now they are saying it's a blown head gasket. Is it possible for the head gasket to blow two weeks after overheating? Is it possible something wrong with the catalytic converter installation?
