1998 Pontiac Firebird 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual

I have a huge problem. Out of the blue my firebird won't start. Battery is new lights come on when I turn key I hear the humm of fuel pump but it does nothing else. I got a new key thinking the resistor was bad in my old one and it wont start. It starts here and there though kinda like when it wants to. I have no idea where to start now. No clicking noise from anything so I know its not starter. But the security light does stay on. Even when it decides to start it stays on. Please help.

If the security light is staying on, then the problem is coming from the system. I hate to say it, but the only people that have the proper test equipment to check it is a dealer.

If you want u cant bypass the security system with a resistor from radio shack let me know if u still need help dan
