Tire Wear on my Fiero

I have a 1987 Pontiac Fiero that I just love. It has about 180k on it. I plan to fix it up but right now I am having a problem with my tires wearing very fast on the back end. The wear is only on the outside of the tire. It is worse on the driver side. I have only had the car for a year and replaced the tire 3 times. I thought it was the alignment at first and when I took it in they aligned it and said it wasn't bad at all. A couple people told me it may be from the car being so light and all the weight being on one side but it seems like a lot more than that to me. A friends dad said that it could be the tie rod? I have no clue. What could be the problem and could I fix it myself? Thank you so much for your time!

I had the exact same problem except on a different car, it was a bent control arm that was causing it to wear so quickly, I had changed it 3 times in one year also. Have you hit anything that could have bent it in the past?

I have only had the car for a year so the previous owner may have. The car was in good condition and everything original it may just be old. It is driving me nuts though. From what everyone has told me lately it is my tie rod. Though I did see on another website of a guy having the same car as me and found out there was a little rubber piece that needed to be replaced and it only costs 12 bucks. I'm not even sure how to check if it is bad or not.

Best bet for you is to take it to a tire shop to get them to put it up in the air and take a look at it.
