When the problem occurs, if it cranks good, have a helper crank it, while you visually check for spark at the plugs. Use a gage and check fuel pressure. Some of the national brand autostores used to loan out a fuel pressure gage, if you don't have one. Be cautious of spraying gas on a hot engine.
Can you check for applicable trouble codes? At the least, you need an obd2 code reader. If the problem is temp related sometimes the coolant temp sensor can cause issues. I wouldn't replace anything without trying to be sure.
