The tail pipe of our 91' plymouth voyager, had fallen off. We were wondering if we could change the the muffler ourselves. Can we fix the muffler ourselves

I do my own muffler work. A tailpipe cutoff tool is a must (handle with a chain of little wheel cutters), plus a mini hacksaw, and often a tailpipe expander tool. The problem is that the muffler is usually rusted frozen onto the exhaust pipe, so you have to cut it off at the neck just forward of the muffler, then cut the neck off the pipe. Give yourself plenty of room to work underneath but make absolutely sure the car is very securely supported on jackstands. Replacing an exhaust pipe can be tricky, depending on how it attaches to the catalytic converter or, I think in the case of these vans, a resonator forward of the muffler.
